This is ideal if you’re looking for:
Sound Protocol Integration Support
Advanced mentorship for practitioners using SSP, RRP, and somatic sound-based tools and modalities
Sound protocols like the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) and the Rest & Repair Protocol (RRP) are powerful tools—but integrating them into real-world practice requires more than technical knowledge. It requires relational sensitivity, deep nervous system attunement, and a clear understanding of how sound interacts with trauma, development, and attachment. Kate offers advanced mentorship for professionals who are trained in these modalities but want to use them with greater clarity, creativity, and care.
As a co-author of the RRP manual, Kate has helped shape the evolving landscape of sound-based healing, blending polyvagal theory, Somatic Experiencing®, and sensory integration into accessible, trauma-informed pathways. She supports practitioners in finding their voice with these tools—whether that means adapting delivery for a dysregulated client, combining sound with SE, or managing pacing and integration after listening sessions.
Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)
Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, SSP is a polyvagal-informed auditory intervention designed to regulate the nervous system and enhance safety, social engagement, and emotional regulation. While SSP is a powerful tool, its effectiveness depends on how and when it’s used. Kate mentors practitioners in delivering SSP with nuance and flexibility, supporting you in recognizing cues of readiness, adjusting for sensitivity, and integrating SSP into broader somatic or relational frameworks.
Kate helps practitioners:
- Understand the layers of client readiness and nervous system capacity
- Adapt delivery methods for dysregulated or highly sensitive clients
- Pair SSP with attachment, sensory, or movement-based practices
- Prevent and respond to overactivation, dissociation, or shutdown
Rest & Repair Protocol (RRP)
The Rest & Repair Protocol (RRP) was co-developed as a complementary sound healing program that emphasizes gentle recalibration and deeper integration following trauma, stress, or overwhelm. Unlike SSP, RRP is designed to work more slowly, and is especially useful during times of fatigue, grief, or long-term nervous system depletion.
As a co-author of the RRP manual, Kate brings unparalleled depth to this work, helping practitioners understand how to use RRP in both one-on-one and group settings, and how to guide clients through the subtler shifts it offers.
Kate supports practitioners in:
- Introducing RRP in safe, grounded, and culturally sensitive ways with clients experiencing grief, chronic stress, or post-SSP fatigue
- Pairing RRP with rituals, rest practices, or spiritual exploration
- Offering RRP as part of intensives, group containers, or long-term healing plans
WORK WITH KATE
Who This Is For, And What Becomes Possible
This work is for families, leaders, and organizations that want their impact to be whole, measured not just by outcomes, but by the integrity of their relationships and the depth of their values.
Kate co-leads this immersive training with Will Rezin, designed for therapists, coaches, bodyworkers, and healing professionals who want to integrate attachment theory, somatic practice, and polyvagal-informed care into their work. This is not just a theoretical course—it’s experiential, alive, and deeply embodied. Participants learn to feel and track nervous system states in themselves and others, understand early attachment patterns, and support clients in repairing ruptures through presence and attunement rather than protocol.
The course brings together Kate’s decades of clinical and spiritual experience with Will’s precise nervous system mapping and trauma-informed teaching. Together, they create a grounded, warm, and intellectually rigorous space where learning happens in real-time—through movement, story, sensation, and reflection.

PERSONAL
testimonials
“As a member of a bigger family and an affluent family, Kate has been instrumental in helping me understand the nature and the dynamic that this brings within families.
She has been phenomenal in helping me understand my role as a father, a member of my family, and a member of a board. She has helped me across many areas of both personal, spiritual, and commercial relationships. She has shown me that healing takes place in relationships, and how to slow down, pause, not miss the moment and move forward in a much more effective way than I was.
In essence, if you’re looking for somebody to help find your blind spots and share that in a very safe way, Kate Appleton is your go to.”
